Are you curious about antennas?
If you are a ham radio operator, I sure hope the answer is yes. But there are so many antennas and everyone has their favorites. As a new or seasoned ham this can be very overwhelming to say the least.
So, where to start then? I would say depends on your use case, and how much area you have to deploy antennas.
Today I am going to tell you about one of my favorite antennas, and the article has the extra advantage of explaining how antennas work in a very easy to understand way. I can assure you this antenna works FB.
I have built several of these with different components and the outcome is the same in all cases: it’s one of the best 40-10m wire antennas out there.
If you want a great antenna for field day or POTA, this is it. If you want a versatile antenna for permanent installation at your QTH, this is also it. And there are very few antennas that are so easy to deploy. You can use a push up pole, I recommend and use Spiderbeam poles, or hang it from a branch with a rope. You can run it flat, my preference, or inverted V which can be easier to deploy especially when portable with the pole option.
The antenna is only 44 feet long. Intrigued?
